A long time ago, I ended up working for 3 months on a commission and didnt get paid a dime for it. One small commission later, the person never responded after I painted their request. 2 small commissions later, another person just stopped replying after I was finished with their commission. No payment.
I recently entered a contest. Easy enough. Rules were clear, due date was clear. I worked on the piece until just before the due date (we had a fairly long time to work on it) and entered it. After I entered it, the person decided to extend the due date...3 times. I ended up in third place to 2 pieces that were entered 3 and 4 months late.

I am burned out. True, some commissions did pay me. But would you go to any other job knowing your weekly paycheck may or may not come?

Now do I truly believe its rude that life just happened to interfere or maybe something came up or maybe they wanted to extend something really badly? Is it really that inconsiderate?........yes.

Hello dubious deviants! Just dropping in and saying "good day".  Also to inform you that I recently accepted a relatively small commission from someone and it turned out to be rather fun, and I wouldn't mind doing more. Drop me a note or an email if you're interested.

In other news, I feel like I'm becoming paranoid. I lost my keys this morning, telling myself someone stole them and will surely break in during the night, only to find them under a box of saltine crackers in the kitchen an hour ago. Yesterday I talked myself into believing I had appendicitis.

I will tell you all a secret. I hate typing descriptions. It's not that I hate telling people about my art, I just hate typing it. You think of what you need to say, how to say it clearly, try to see if you forgot anything. Glance it over to make sure you spelled everything right. Select and copy it unless it doesn't upload right and you lose the type....not as easy as select pic/upload.
Nonetheless I endure my wording/memory/spelling battle because some pictures do have a story and will not make sense if you do not have a description to read. Take Ol' Hektula here for instance. He has a little something wrong with him. His hands look funny. Damn Juji, haha. She switched his hands inside out, what a blunder!! Okay here we go...[Typing:] "Dear Juji. You got his hands all wrong. they are inside out." [Click Send]
This is where I'm going to whine a little. In the amount of time it took to type that, the Deviant could have read the description I typed, stating the hands are backwards as a trait of his race, making that comment completely moot.

Plus I think it's just good manners to read the description before you comment on it.  

Absence! Hi everybody! I've been gone for a while now, even though I quickly posted up my latest picture BOOOM. A couple of months ago I started getting reeeeeally sick and thought it was the flu. But after having a 103 fever for 2 weeks and extreme fatigue, I went to the hospital and found out not all was well. >< Apparently I had a huge infection. So big it had to be removed surgically! So for the last month I've been laying in bed, letting my tummy heal up, doing nothing but watching movies and playing fire emblem and watching movies and wishing I could sit up to draw. And watching movies.
But now I feel SO much better! Like my old me again. And I've got some inspiration while in the horrible hospital so that actually helped a little.
I had to take 16 pills a day for 3 weeks! Apparently that was a big infection
(movie on tv at bottom is FFVII Advent Children, Square Enix)

Anyway, presently healthy Juji says HI!!

First I'd like to say thanks for the 60,000 hits. Been a pleasure to be here!

Now for the News. HOON and I are starting some new work. And there's tons to be done! That's right, 24 hours is simply not enough hours packed into a day to get it all done, so our participation and site surfing is going to be sparse for a while. This means I will not have a life anymore. My friends shall be neglected, my games and shows will sit upon the shelf...slowly collecting dust bunny colonies. Good bye Garret, good bye Sephiroth, good bye Illidan and Haku and all you other fabulous creations of imagination. Until we meet again~

BUT, don't get me wrong. I would not make such a terrible sacrifice for any small reason. Oh yes, there will be rewards at the end. Great rewards. At such time I shall open up the gates and flood you all with art. Flood, I say, FLOOD!!!

     Today's subject, not a happy one. Not necessarily sad, but more of a serious nature. It is bad enough to take candy from babies, it is worse that people take art from artists. Today I am going to get a little more solemn than usual, and go so far as to break the taboo of pointing fingers. I intend to point my finger at two sites in particular. PLANETRENDERS.NET, and GAMERENDERS.COM. Perhaps the people that run the sites think they are doing good for the art community, cutting and pasting others art, lasso-ing it carefully and transforming it into usable wallpapers. Perhaps they feel they've done society a favor by creating entire web sites based soley on manipulating pictures from professional artists for the fun of it. Perhaps in all this philanthropy on their part, they forgot to ask permission from any of the artists, give any of them proper credit, or follow copyright laws.
     These sites are not healthy for any artist. They are basically stealing loads of work, claiming it as their own, and worse distributing it as free. A favorite is our Ninja Talk Show characters OMAI [link] and Hokukage [link] These are stolen regularly, usually with some disfiguring filter run over them, and it takes just that much more time for HOON to have the pictures removed.
     It has become common to receive notes saying "Someone just posted your pic!". Not too long ago, someone even posted a comment saying we were the thieves!!  All these cases usually have one thing in common. The pictures were taken from, or posted on, one of the two sites mentioned above.
     I have contacted many of the people that have done so. Their intentions certianly weren't malicious, and I don't believe they are mean spirited people at all. Some of them are kinda nice. But I think more emphasis needs to be placed on the seriousness of taking art that had much effort put into it by someone else, and trying to take credit for it.

      I'm back from Washington! Weeeeeeee~ I had a great time. The weather there was strange. It was boiling hot (and muggy) the first day, the second day it was so cold I just wanted to soak in a hot tub for hours...if I had a hot tub to soak in that is So anyway, maybe I can get back to posting stuff here and there. Sorry for the lack of pictures peoples ^^

I've got a bunch of trips planned. Weee~~ Soonest is at the end of this month. I'm heading up to Washington for a while to see a friend. Then camping, and Florida!  

Oh, and also=within the next few months, I should be able to show you guys the pictures I've been working on recently. That will be a nice difference from the speedy crap I've been posting recently <_<;;; Then you can see JUJI's FULL POTENTIAL!!!! Muhahahahahaha ........er....

Why you ask? Why am I even going so far as to share my beloved bowl of pho with him in my journal?? Because Guchi made me the awesomest avatar. It even has my little octo mascot in it. It is animated and cute. It is my dream avatar. THANKS GUCHI!!!!
Which naturally leads to questions like. 'why isn't my avatar different?' and 'why is the title of this journal "It's Just Not FAIR!!! "?'  Because, dear friends, I too am afflicted with a broken avatar button. No matter how many times I upload it, only my original jpeg avatar appears and it is not lag.

BUT, that does not mean I will not continue to try every day until it finally works.

This coming saturday marks a special occasion on the Juji calendar, because my best childhood friend is getting married. That will take up a lot of my time (since I'm in the wedding), but I'm happy for her.
