Little Nobleman by Jujika Little Nobleman by Jujika
Portrait 2. The twin brother of the girl I last posted. His grandmother wanted him to look like a little prince with a dragon beside him. Designed a lot of patterns for clothes, stained glass window, and stone etc.

Perhaps the anime in me exaggerates the size of kids' heads. >_< ;;

The background looks amazing, butI don't think the boy's face really matches up with the overall art style of the piece.

From 'monstermo44' : "unfortunately all the portraits look awkward because the realism doesn't match up with all of your anime tendencies... maybe should try to make the faces more anime-ish too. :-/"

I agree. :)

the boy's features don't match as well to the the rest of the picture. are the features photoshoped from a photo?

That boy looks near photorealistic. Did you actually use a real photograph for his head? I must say, I love it in contrast to the outfit, and the dragon in the background, all of which are splendidly designed. It makes it look like a depiction of the child's fantasy in his own mind.

And the light filtering through the leaves of the tree and the window is perfectly done. Simply brilliant work.

Yeah, the realism of the faces is separate from the more painterly technique in the rest of the painting, and it looks a little pasted on and a little creepy and weird. They're lovely works, but I think I would have tried to integrate the faces a bit more.

it's a wonderful composition, but I get the impression that their heads are kinda 'floating' there, like they don't belong
I dunno o.

They both look really great but the level of detail in their faces is almost a different style than the rest of the painting. Though it's gorgeous, there is a clear separation that almost makes the picture look as if a photo of the boy's face were put on the body of a painting. I know that you painted it, I can tell but the faces seem almost like a different media, probably because you worked on them so hard to get them to look like the children! I feel bad for making a critique and I certainly didn't mean to offend!! It's a wonderfully splendid piece of art, and I hope that maybe that was helpful. :)

..The looks like the face of a real by. Like it was take right out of an actual picture. That's awesome.

That dragon looks marvelous, too. :] The background fits nicely.

Actually this one looks very nice - the head doesn't seem off at all. I think it's both to the fact that the body is not too long while being really thin too - like the girl. And his shoulders also seem wider then the girls (but that's probably due to the shoulderpads).
I think this one is really close to perfect anatomy wise (the rest of the painting is super lovely to start with).

Actually, kids heads, at this age, do seem a bit large for their torsos. Don't worry about it. These all turned out beautifully.

looks to me like your using 2 diff styles for the head and body, and they both look good, you just got to find the happy medium.
good job with the twins
