Description
Five and Ten squares, an artistic Jambalaya of color schemes and techniques, styles and diversity. When I paint something I sketch, I often wonder how different this picture would be if another artist painted the same thing. I believe, with the exact same sketch, a different painter with their own style can convey a totally different picture. Perhaps that is why the woman's body can be such a huge subject of study for artists and still be a fresh new look with every portrayal. Simply a change in style or perception with every artist.
Among my collage of tiles, I have tried to replicate the feel of various artists I greatly admire, and some styles I often refer to. Perhaps you can tell which tiles go to which artist:
Bougeureau
Tamara De Lempicka
Alphonse Mucha
Maxfield Parrish
Albert Bierstadt
John William Waterhouse
and of course lets not forget the tiles that represent groups of artists: namely oil painters, pencil sketchers, Pastel users, and the ever-present ever-popular ever-so-wonderful Digital Artist!! When put together they are obviously inconsistent....and yet....that similar endeavor for beauty somehow makes it fit.
About 6-8 hours, used Photoshop cs and Painter 8.
